Seville is the political, cultural, and intellectual capital of Andalucia, one of Spain's most populous regions. The Seville Cathedral is the third largest church in the Christian world. With its palm shaded avenues, numerous parks, gardens, and plazas, it is truly one of Spain's loveliest cities.

Founded in the 16th Century, the University of Seville is one of Spain's leading institutions of higher learning. The New Paltz program enables students to take "Cursos para Extranjeros" which are offered by the "Facultades de Filologia, Historia y Geografia" and are taught in Spanish by regular University of Seville faculty.
