Description: The American College Program offers students an intellectually challenging and diverse program of study meeting the high academic standards of the bilingual University of Fribourg.

Operating in an increasingly interdependent world, and in particular in international organizations, requires interdisciplinary thinking. The University of Fribourg is uniquely well suited to provide such an education as it has a long-standing and innovative tradition in interdisciplinary studies and has always served as a meeting ground for the world's diverse races, religions and cultures.

The Program includes full immersion in the French or German language, enrollment into regular university classes, access to university libraries, and maximum exposure to the cultural and political life of contemporary Switzerland and Europe.

Based in the well-preserved medieval and bilingual city of Fribourg, the American College Program offers students an intellectually challenging and diverse program of study meeting the high academic standards common to its host institution.

Highlights: The Program offers full immersion in the French or German language, direct enrolment into regular courses at the University of Fribourg, unfettered access to university libraries, and maximum exposure to the cultural and political life of contemporary Switzerland and Europe.

The aim of the program is to provide North American students the opportunity to study French and German at a unique, bilingual university in Europe, fostering substantial intellectual, cultural and social exchange between American participants and the Fribourg University students and professors. At the same time, American students gain invaluable experience living abroad in the safe and neutral environment of Switzerland.
