Description:
S&K is a bicultural community center and thereby an experimental implementation of Stephen Krashen's Natural Approach and acquisition theory. As such, we do not follow any specific plan or course of lessons, but promote language and culture exchange in communicative activities. We emphasize language acquisition through communication rather than language learning through the study of grammar. We believe that language is a result of human interaction.
Highlights:
Program focused on natural language acquisition. Includes formal classroom teaching (conversation, grammar, phonology), capoeira and samba lessons, and cultural traveling on weekends. Small town, safe environment.
Degree Level: Bachelors Degree (Undergraduate)
Qualifications:
For the internship program, the candidate must be a native speaker of English with a strong desire to learn and compare cultures. Friendly personality, communicative and some teaching experience desirable. Candidate will exchange ESL teaching for Brazilian language and culture immersion.
