CIS - Internships in Sydney, Australia

  Australia
  • Sydney:
  • Sydney

Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: throughout the year

Description: What could be more exciting for a college student than getting real-life experience in Australia's beautiful city of Sydney? CIS and Macquarie University now offer study abroad students an internship during their studies. In place of taking one or two classes you can undertake a professional internship earning college credit at the same time.

You will intern for 10-20 hours per week for 12 weeks on the Internship project in Sydney and will be assessed by visits, interviews, reports and a major assignment. Internship projects can be completed in a variety of disciplines including business administration, marketing, biomedical sciences, computer science, media, communications, finance, psychology and public relations.

The Macquarie University Internship Program provides study-abroad students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a relevant organization while completing their studies. The internships are normally unpaid positions with companies near to the university or a short train or bus ride away. Students are assisted in finding positions related to their study major and/or interests. These internships garner Macquarie University credit and as such are transferable to the student's home institution (with prior approval).

Internship units are assessed by visits, interviews, reports and an assignment undertaken by the participant. In conjunction with the internship, students will take one or two classes from the normal selection of Macquarie subjects offered, or from subjects that are specifically designed to support the internship. The best news of all is that this internship option is included in the affordable CIS study-abroad program price!
