CIS - Rugby Study Abroad at Victoria University of Wellington

  New Zealand
  • Wellington:
  • Wellington

Term: Spring
Dates: Spring: late February - June

Description: CIS, the Center for International Studies, and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand are excited to announce a very unique study abroad offering-Rugby Study Abroad.

How does it work, you ask? In much the same fashion as one would do on their home campus, the student will attend classes at a well recognized New Zealand university, Victoria University of Wellington, and then during non-class time, participate as a full fledged member of the Old Boys-University Rugby Club. During their semester, the student will accumulate credit just like at their home campus and compete at whatever level they are comfortable with in the Club-from beginner to advanced.

Highlights: The Rugby Study Abroad program provides male and female student-athletes the opportunity to combine an academic study abroad experience with his or her athletic passion, rugby. The benefits include immediate cultural immersion, academic credit, and learning the "art" of rugby in arguably the worlds best informed and most passionate rugby nation. Students attend classes at Victoria University of Wellington and during non-class time participate as a full-fledged member of a Rugby Club. As part of the program you will receive all that a study abroad student would normally receive as well as a free gym membership at Wellingtons largest complex, rugby uniform and bag, tickets to professional rugby games, and access to coaches who have trained world-class rugby athletes.
