Czech Republic: Prague - Florida State University International Programs
Czech Republic
Term: Summer
Dates: May 20 - June 28 (6 Weeks)
Description:
After the fall of communism in 1989, the borders to the Czech Republic were reopened and Prague, the capital city, quickly surfaced as an internationally recognized center of culture. Located in the heart of Europe, Prague provides a fascinating vantage point from which to study emerging European nations and issues of democratization. The program offers students an absorbing international and intercultural perspective on a wide array of aesthetic, historical, political, and social issues. Students with broad interests in the social sciences such as criminology, political science, international affairs, human rights and social work, are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
Highlights:
Most weekends are filled with course-related field trips to the citys historical sites and museums, as well as excursions to other landmarks.
