Description:
Students who choose API in Florence will study at the Scuola Lorenzo de'Medici (LdM). Founded in 1973, Lorenzo de'Medici focuses on the development not only of the technical side of art and creation, but also of the conceptual side, of aesthetic awareness and of the confidence one needs as an artist. Lorenzo de'Medici offers a wide selection of courses, including Intensive Italian, International Business, Humanities, Liberal Arts, and Studio Arts. API students will have the opportunity to earn 15-16 semester credit hours, depending on their course selections. Courses are available at lower and upper-division levels. Language courses are taught in Italian at all levels (beginning through advanced). All other courses are taught in English by European and American professors. Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor's programs are also available in Florence through LdM. Contact the API office for more information.

Florence has endured a long history as a center of arts, poetry, painting, and the humanities. In Florence students will soak up the culture and history of this great city, while learning Italian and studying in buildings reflective of centuries past. As a student with Academic Programs International (API) in Florence, you will join the thousands of artists and scholars who have entered the city over the centuries to enlighten their minds and be inspired by the energy of creation that exists there.
