Studying at the University of Limerick is a great way to kick off your summer. CIS understands that your main reason for traveling to Ireland is to study, but the Summer School at UL also provides you with opportunities to explore the countryside. Your studies will be enhanced by three one-day excursions to Dublin, Limerick City, and the West of Ireland. Classes are taught Monday to Friday leaving you the weekends to explore those parts of Ireland which you dont get to see on the school sponsored excursions. The University is located on a riverside campus at the heart of the 600-acre National Technological Park at Plassey, three miles above the ancient city of Limerick. Founded in 1972, Limerick has quickly gained a reputation among Irish universities for its innovatively designed courses as well as for its excellent academic standards.
Highlights:
The UL Irish Studies Summer School offers five course options: Irish Life and Literature Ireland - Gateway to Europe Irish Society - Between Boston & Berlin Visual Culture in Ireland 1400-1950 Communication & Culture-International Technical Writing You will enroll in one course for the duration of the three week program. All classes offered at the Summer School are taught at the 300 level which is equivalent to a 2nd or 3rd year course at US universities and each class is worth 3 Limerick credits (3 US credits). Accommodation is provided in single study bedrooms with private bathrooms in on-campus apartments. Each apartment also includes a shared living area with kitchen and lounge.
