Description:
CET's Vietnam Immersion is an intensive program designed for all students with an interest in immersing themselves in the dynamic environment of contemporary Vietnam. Offering the exciting opportunity to explore a fast-paced country rich in history, art, and culture. The Vietnam Immersion program challenges students to learn through Vietnamese language and area studies classes and provides the opportunity to participate in service learning projects. Most exciting, Vietnam Immersion is the first US-sponsored program to offer students the opportunity to live with Vietnamese roommates, allowing unique opportunities for immersion. Learning Vietnamese in Vietnam provides unique opportunities and challenges. CET's classes are structured to contextualize language learning and encourage students to learn both inside and outside of the classroom. CET's unique service internships, practical, weekly activities and extracurricular classes challenge students to practice and build upon their new language skills. Few study abroad programs offer the level of support we do. Both before you leave for Vietnam and during your semester there, CET staff are on hand to help prepare, equip, counsel and direct you. Your academic, personal, and logistical needs are addressed by our Resident Director who lives in Vietnam.
Highlights:
* Live with Vietnamese roommates * Involve yourself in service learning internships arranged by CET with a variety of local organizations * Enroll in Visual Anthropology & Media Studies in Urban Vietnam * Travel on a study tour through northern and central Vietnam and explore the history and architecture of Hue, see the beauty of the central highlands in Dalat, or visit sites such as the DMZ * Benefit from the full time support of CET's Resident Director in Vietnam
