Description: Learn all the skills necessary to be a qualified field guide in South Africa, from tracking animal movements to encountering wildlife while driving through the dramatic African bush. Experience what its like to live on a game reserve and fall asleep to the sound of hyenas. Join this South African course with GVI and truly experience the life of a field guide in South Africa. Base in the spectacular Kruger National Park (South Africa's largest game reserve), you will go on exciting bush walks and game drives to spot zebras, elephants and a wide variety of wildlife that live on the reserve. You will attend lectures given by experienced game rangers on a range of subjects, from mammals to trees. You will have the option of joining either the 28-day course or the FGASA course (which is the same except it requires you to take exams and assessments) when you join GVI overseas in South Africa.
