Scotland has an extraordinary diverse geology that spans a large portion of geologic history. This has made Scotland a prime technical influence on the geological sciences, and the history and development of the science itself. This study tour will visit the major geographic regions of Scotland, and will include some of the same outcrops studied by James Hutton and Charles Lyell such as Siccar Point. The history of geology on the historical and cultural evolution on the country will be highlighted, and time will be available to investigate some of the major cultural aspects of Scotland. Cost Include Description:
The total cost includes: roundtrip airfare from US East Coast (JFK, Newark), transportation in the UK including round trip train from London to Scotland (Edinburgh/Glasgow), all accommodations while in the UK, breakfast and lunch while in residence at St. Andrews, course materials folder, three credits undergraduate NY in-state tuition. Graduate credit is available for an added fee to cover the difference in graduate tuition rates. The quoted cost is based on a minimum of 10 participants.
