Students study: * International Reporting * Multimedia Skills * Video * Language and Culture And report on the host community using local interpreters. They then create a multimedia Web site about the town.
Highlights:
* Students learn multimedia and international reporting skills. * Housing included (Students in Urbino live and take all meals in a University of Urbino dormitory; students in Perpignan live in studios in a modern hotel/apartment with cooking facilities). * Students earn 3 units of transferable, upper-division journalism credit through San Francisco State University's College of Extended Learning. * Equipment provided although students are encouraged to bring their own cameras, laptops and video cameras. * Travel/health insurance included.

Institute for Education in International Media's Mission Statement: ieiMedia provides students with unique immersion opportunities in international communication, allowing them to get a taste of what it's like to be a foreign correspondent. Students are taught a variety of media skills (reporting, video, photography, Web design, etc.) and then they report on the community where they are living. Students in each program produce a multimedia Web site about the town.
