Description: The Brockport Strathclyde Program is a one-semester program offered in both the fall and spring semesters. The objective of the Brockport Strathclyde Program is to provide an opportunity for American undergraduates to become, during their semester of participation, actual University of Strathclyde undergraduates to attend the same classes, to live in the same housing, to participate in the same social cultural, athletic sporting and academic extracurricular activities as their Scottish counterparts.

"SUNY Brockport study abroad programs are for students matriculated in the US only, US students only."

Highlights: The University of Strathclyde was founded in 1796 as Anderson's Institution in the midst of the first Industrial Revolution. Its founder, John Anderson, who was a contemporary of James Watt and Adam Smith, left instruction in his will that an institution be established for 'the Good of Mankind and the Improvement of Science - a place of useful learning'. The University of Strathclyde, created by Royal Charter in 1964 from a merger between the Royal College of Science and Technology and the Scottish College of Commerce, was further enhanced in April 1993 when Jordan hill College of Education, one of the largest and most highly respected institutions of its kind in the UK, became the University's Faculty of Education. The University of Strathclyde has two campuses: the John Anderson Campus in the centre of Glasgow, where the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Engineering, Science and the Strathclyde Business School are located, and the Jordan hill Campus, with our Faculty of Education, in the west end of the city. The University of Strathclyde is Scotland's third largest university, with around 14,000 students, whose ages range from 17-70, and who represent over 90 countries. There are over 100 student clubs and societies, and some 40 different sports offered to students. The first university to be awarded the Queen's Award for Technological Achievement (and also a winner of the Queen's Award for Export Achievement), the first university to achieve a Charter Mark (for the Careers Service), the University of Strathclyde is a proven centre of excellence and a stimulating place in which to study.
