Description:
The SUNY Brockport Program at City University is a one semester or full-year program offered in both the fall and spring semesters. Designed primarily for upper-division (junior/senior year) students matriculated at American colleges and universities, this SUNY Overseas Academic Program provides the opportunity for undergraduates to spend a portion of their academic careers as students at this London university. The SUNY Brockport City University Program allows American undergraduates to become, for their semester or year of participation, actual City University undergraduates to attend the same classes, to live in the same housing, to participate in the same social, cultural, athletic, and academic extracurricular activities as their British counterparts. This program seeks to fully integrate American students into this British university for a semester or a year. Highlights:
Founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute of Technology, City University has evolved from a historical leader in science and technology into a modern forerunner in those fields, plus business, journalism, psychology, sociology and other contemporary disciplines. It adopted its current name in1966 to reflect its ideal location on the edge of the London financial district (the actual City of London). The campus is situated in the historic village of Islington, with a satellite location for the Business School just minutes away. Although its location is in the very heart of metropolitan London, the campus is located in a residential area that is comprised of cinemas, fringe theatres, more than 300 international cafes, pubs and restaurants and street markets laden with antiques, flowers, and clothing.
