In Cuernavaca, you will live in a homestay. The homestay will provide you with the opportunity to practice your Spanish skills and be a part of the Mexican culture with the family. You will share a room with another student in a Mexican family's house within the city.

The host family will provide three meals per day.

Cuernavaca

The capital of the state of Morelos, located 50 miles south of Mexico City, Cuernavaca is known as the city of eternal spring because of its consistent warm and sunny climate. This charming city attracts vacationing nationals as well as people from all over the world with its rich colonial history and striking scenery. The juxtaposition of ancient dwellings and modern way of life make Cuernavaca an ideal study abroad destination.

Highlights: Other excursions that will be offered:

Teotihuacan
These ruins from approximately 200BC are a mystery to us still today. You will wander through the settlement of Teotihuacán, meaning "Place where Men Became Gods", and discover the various civilizations who settled the area since 200BC.

Malinalco
Malinalco is best known for the famous archeological site that brings tourists to this Mexican town rich in culture, tradition and history. The well-preserved Aztec temple is one of the four monolithic pyramids in the world; the others are located in India, Jordan and Egypt. The temple served as the initiation site for men being becoming the Eagle and Jaguar warriors. Besides the temple, you will also wander the colonial streets and dine on traditional local cuisine.

Taxco
Taxco was once synonymous with silver mining. Today, as you wander the cobblestone streets of Taxco, the city reveals its history in the silver mining industry on every corner with over 200 silver shops and jewelers. While meandering the streets lined with red roofed houses and jewelry stores, you may get lost in the twisting streets and markets of Taxco.

Puebla
Founded in 1531 by Spanish Conguerors, Puebla is often referred to as "The City of Angels." Puebla has a rich cultural history that is displayed through the unique colonial architecture. The city is also known for the cuisine that originated there and is now popular all over Mexico, Cocina Poblana. The most notable is the rich, spicy chocolate sauce.

Cholula
Cortes named this cit "the most beautiful city outside of Spain". He also vowed to construct 365 churches, one for every day of the year. While this goal was never attained, the 37 churches throughout the city make Cholula a destination for religious pilgrims. Along with a multitude of churches, you will also visit the Teneapa Pyramid and the winding tunnels under the pyramid.
