Dates: AY: Early September-Late June; Fall: Early September-Late January; Spring: Early February-Late June
Description:
Experience the beauty and culture of Denmark while studying at the internationally renowned University of Aarhus located in the center of the "the world's smallest big city" of Aarhus. Students can directly enroll in courses in English in over 30 subject areas while also learning Danish culture and language. Students with proficiency in Danish will be able to take advantage of additional courses. The University of Aarhus guarantees accommodation to all exchange students and assists students in finding the right housing. Students can choose from student residences, shared-facilities houses or private housing. All rooms offered are furnished (a minimum of a bed, a desk, a lamp, a study chair and basic kitchen utensils) with access to kitchen, toilet and bathing facilities. Bed linens, duvets and pillows are not included in the rented rooms. This means you have to bring your own set or buy one in Aarhus.
Highlights:
The city of Aarhus was founded during the Viking Age, and there are still traces of the people who chose to settle by the mouth of the Aarhus river. With a population of around 300,000 people, Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark and because of the high population of university students it retains a young and exciting vibrancy of its very own. The University of Aarhus is located in the center of the city, close to cafes, shops, streets and a busy and buzzing social life along the river. Aarhus is a modern, safe city and everything is within biking distance. The town hosts various festivals, concerts, and theater performances. The University of Aarhus also publishes a monthly newsletter for international students highlighting upcoming events and activities at the university and around the town. Studenterhus Aarhus is the meeting place for international and Danish students on campus. This center of activity organizes social and cultural activities as well as field trips throughout the year. The landscape around Aarhus is generally hilly, interspersed with forests, meadows and beaches that can be explored year round.
