Description:
Combining exploration with volunteerism, this study-abroad experience takes you on a journey to West Africa. From its indelible link to the African Diaspora, to its ties to European colonialism, to the visionaries who made it the first independent African state, Ghana is rich with history. You'll have an opportunity for service learning in a village participating in community development activities. Students will earn 3 credits for HIST 145 (African American History), ENGL 122 (Writing and Research), ENGL 150 (African American Literature, or ANTH 106 (Cultures of the World).
