Study in Vienna, Austria
Austria
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: AY: Late September-Early July; Fall: Late September-Late February; Spring: Late February-Early July
Description:
Learn about the relationships between man, society and the environment while studying with Austrian and international students at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna. The university is a teaching and research institution that focuses on renewable resources that are a prerequisite for human existence. Students may take courses in English but those proficient in German will have additional course options available to them. BOKU University is beautifully situated in the outskirts of Vienna, in a "green" surrounding, but within 20 minutes from the center of Vienna. The capital city of Vienna is an exciting combination of the royal-imperial flair of the past with the latest modern trends. Enjoy the tradition of art and culture as well as the many outdoor recreational opportunities in the city's parks, woods or along the Danube river.
Highlights:
The Housing Office can arrange accommodation in student residence halls. These residence halls are for international students and are fully furnished. If students prefer to find their own accommodation with Austrians, some one- or two-room apartments or single rooms in a larger apartment are available in Vienna. The Housing Office can provide students with suggestions to finding these types of accommodation. The studentpoint focus group is for the students of the University of Vienna and the center for organizing a variety of events and activities for students. The International Office promotes the exchange of Austrian and international students through a buddy network. The buddy will help students with administrative details and provide an introduction to Viennese university life and culture. There is always something to do in Vienna, from going hiking and biking on the extensive network of bike trails throughout the country, to visiting the local art museums, to relaxing with friends at small cafes and coffee houses.
