The Center for Defending the Freedoms of Journalists welcomes applicants for internship positions. Individuals interested in free speech legislation, democracy building, communications development, human rights advocacy, international and Jordanian law and/or non-profit management are encouraged to apply. Internships may be from two to four months in duration. In acquiescence with the mission of CDFJ all activities and tasks involve supporting a free media environment to build a more just and democratic society. Intern responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): -Fundraising committee: drafting concept papers, proposals, researching funding opportunities and potential partners for projects -Media Legal Aid Unit: working with lawyers on court cases involving the media and consultations to media organizations and journalists -Program Coordination: assist in planning forums, publications, training workshops, programs, etc. To apply, please submit your resume and an application letter explaining why you would like to intern at CDFJ. Center for Defending the Freedoms of Journalists's Mission Statement: CDFJ is a non-profit organization that was established in 1998 for the promotion of media and free speech in Jordan and the Middle East. CDFJ's projects include training, research, monitoring and advocacy in the areas of professional journalism, media policy and legislation, and legal support. CDFJ offers a variety of trainings to journalists, editors, media owners, lawyers and judges in order to promote a free and professional media system in Jordan.
