Universite de Paris SorbonneLexia's program is affiliated with The Sorbonne. Founded in 1253, the Sorbonne is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education in France. Located near the Luxembourg Gardens in the city center, the Sorbonne is within walking distance of most sites of historical and cultural interest. Its "Cours de Langue et de Civilisation françaises" were created in 1917 for the purpose of teaching French language and culture to foreign students. Language instruction takes place at the Sorbonne with Sorbonne faculty; other classes are held in the other classroom space in central Paris.
Highlights:
The Lexia in Paris semester program is composed of several components, which are: * Orientation * French Language Seminar * French Film Studies/Area Studies Seminar * Research Methods Seminar * Field Research Project * Review and Evaluation All parts of the Lexia program are required of all students and, when completed successfully, yield 16 semester or 24 quarter credits per semester. The program is designed to be academically challenging and demanding, but it allows ample time for students to become acquainted with the local culture.
