The Instituto de Idiomas, Universidad del Norte, offers two main English programs - the Undergraduate Program, with over 3,000 students and 50 teachers and the Extension Program, with over 1,000 students. The Undergraduate program consists of 8 levels of 64 hours each plus two specialized courses. Students taking their majors at Uninorte should take language classes as a requisite for graduation. The Extension Program consists of 13 basic and intermediate courses, three advanced courses and specialized courses at students' selection. The specialized courses to choose from are Conversation, Business English, TOEFL Preparation, Academic Writing, Accent Reduction, Effective Presentations and Effective Telephoning. Other languages are also taught: German, French and Italian.
