Description:
The program in Dublin offers students the opportunity to study arts and culture, drama, music video production, playwriting, recorded music, and screenwriting while living in this vibrant European capital. The program is offered in collaboration with faculty from several Irish universities, Hot Press magazine, and various theatre companies. A community arts project is also run in conjunction with the National College of Art and Design and the Dublin Institute of Technology. Tisch Dublin is located in Temple Bar, Dublin's cultural quarter - a bustling art, residential, and small-business district. This area is brimming with arts, culture, and entertainment along with some of Dublin's top restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, and shops. Students earn 16-18 points (credits) per term.
Highlights:
Music Video Production is offered in both the spring and fall. Screenwriting in Dublin is offered in the fall. How Arts Create the World: Dublin and Playwriting in Ireland are offered in the spring. Companion courses include Cinema in Contemporary Ireland; Contemporary Irish Theatre; History, Politics, and Artistic Expression in Ireland; Ireland's Dramatic Renaissance: 1850-1939; and Writing the Short Screenplay.
