Description:
Study in Ireland with Towson University in Summer 2010. This three week program will introduce students to the principles of behavior analysis, educational intervention, and therapeutic strategies to children at-risk for chronic deficits in school functioning. Participants will visit local clinics, schools, and training colleges to learn about intervention techniques for children and explore psychological and educational practices unique to Ireland. The program is based in Dublin - the largest city and capital of Ireland. It has a booming economy and one of the fastest growing populations of any European capital city with over one million residents. This cosmopolitan vibrant city is steeped in history but also offers every modern convenience including great restaurants, shopping, live music and pubs.
Highlights:
Program highlights include guest lectures from local researchers, a visit to the Children's Research Center at Trinity College, and excursions to the National Gallery of Ireland and the Wicklow Mountains National Park.

Cost includes tuition (3 credits), roundtrip airfare, health insurance, housing, and excursions. Additional estimated costs include a Study Abroad Fee, meals and personal expenses.

Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Prerequisites: One or more of the following - PSYC 101, PSYC 201, PSYC 203, PSYC 361, PSYC 403, PSYC 451, SPED 429 or equivalent or consent of instructor.
