These courses are for doctors, medical students in the clinical phase of their studies and other medical professionals who need to use English in their work. A Class Medical English lessons allow you to improve your ability to communicate in English in a medical environment.The courses also take into consideration your needs.

Here is a sample of some of the usual topics covered:

* Taking a history.
* Asking about symptoms.
* Recording information.
* Communicating information accurately.
* Examining a patient.
* Rephrasing, explaining, clarifying and prompting.
* Investigations.
* Medical documents.
* Interpreting, explaining and discussing a diagnosis.
* Understanding diagrams and documents.
* Using a pharmacology reference.
* Case histories.
* Treatment: medical treatment, physiotherapy, surgical treatment, giving and understanding instructions.
* Language functions.
* Common medical abbreviations.

General Medical English Course 10 lessons a week @ 45 minutes per lesson. Two lessons per day, focusing on Medical English. Maximum of 8 students per class. All course materials are provided. Available for the first two weeks of each month.

Medical English Combination Course 30 lessons a week @ 45 minutes per lesson. General English with with 2 lessons focussing on Medical English in the afternoon. Maximum 8 students in Medical English classes. All course materials are provided.Available for the first two weeks of each month

Medical English Intensive Course 30 lessons @ 45 minutes per lesson. Medical English in the mornings and afternoons. Maximum 8 students. All course materials are provided. Available for the first two weeks of each month

Medical English One to One 10, 20 or 30 lessons @ 45 minutes per lesson. All course materials are provided. Available all year round. Get the individual attention you need to get as much out of your lessons as possible. Whether you want to look at writing for medical journals, presenting your research to collegues or explaining a diagnosis to your patients; your experienced AClass teacher will design the course to your personal needs.

Business English Courses

This course is designed to help you gain more confidence and knowledge when using English, especially in a Business context. It is ideal if you are already a working professional or a student preparing for a Business Studies degree or MBA who wants to achieve better communication skills in a global English speaking Business environment. AClass Business English teachers come from a wide variety of backgrounds with experience and expertise to design specialised modules in areas such as Banking and Finance.
Students should be at least 18 years old and of an Intermediate level before joining a Business English Class unless booking Business English One to One.

Some of the topics covered in this course are:
- Small talk, cultural differences
- Role-plays of conferences and meetings.
- Presentations, telephoning and discussions.
- Contracts and report reading
- Business vocabulary

Business English Combination Course 30 lessons a week @ 45 minutes per lesson. General English in the mornings with 2 lessons focussing on Business in the afternoon. Maximum 10 students in Business afternoon classes. All course materials are provided.

Business English Intensive Course - 30 lessons a week @45 minutes a lesson per week. Business English in the mornings and afternoons. Maximum 8 students in the mornings and 10 students in the afternoons. All course materials are provided.

Business English One to One -20/30 lessons a week @ 45 minutes a lesson per week. This is ideal for people who are pressed for time and have very specific needs they want to focus on. Your experienced A Class teacher will tailor the course to your personal needs. All course materials are provided.

The Business English Certificates (BEC) are internationally recognised qualifications that show employers your skills for using English in the workplace. Leading international companies such as Sony Ericsson, Shell, Vodafone, Bayer, Coca-Cola and HSBC have all recognised BEC in their offices around the world. English One to One
If you prefer a more personal approach AClass One to One lessons are perfect for you. Get the individual attention and specific focus you need with no other distractions to improve your English quickly. Our teachers here at AClass can help you progress quickly and easily. These types of lessons are perfect if you want to target a specific area or feel you would do better with your own private teacher who can go over and repeat areas of language you find challenging.

English One to One lessons include all course materials. This is the most flexible and personal course available. You can choose to study 20, 30 or 40 lessons per week.
One off extra one to one lessons to supplement a General English course can also be arraigned but are subject to teacher availability. Contact us directly for this option.
