The goal of the Integrated Studies Program is to guide you to live as a member of sevillano culture both on campus and in the city, while gaining a profound understanding of your surroundings. A unique intensive period at the Center in Seville prepares you for the challenges of studying in a foreign university and provides you with a base to help you navigate throughout your experience. The Center also houses the Upper-Division Spanish Studies Program, which is known for its rigorous academic curriculum and attention to the study abroad student's immersion experience. Program Features: * Dedication to academic excellence * Initial intensive language & culture course at the Center * Classes with Spanish students * Homestays or student residencias * Intercambios with native speakers * Internships and Service Learning Projects available for qualified students * All inclusive day and overnight study visits * Time for independent travel * On-Site Resident Director, Housing Coordinator, Computer Technician, Librarian, and Activities Coordinator
Highlights:
Your academic experience takes place in a historic Spanish mansion in the heart of downtown Seville and at nearby Universidad de Sevilla. A beautiful and ancient city on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, Seville has a rich cultural life and is known for its winding Moorish streets, Renaissance gardens, flower-strewn patios, grand architecture, flamenco dancing, and music. Although the majority of your classes will be at Universidad de Sevilla, students in the Integrated Study Program have full access to the resources at the CC-CS Center. The Center has been a social and cultural gathering place for both Americans and sevillanos since 1969. Each year, more than two hundred Spaniards study English at the Center and participate in intercambios (language-exchanges) with American students. The Center also actively promotes regular interaction of Spanish and American students by organizing social events and cultural activities such as outings to the theater, festivals and carnivals, art exhibits, concerts of classical and contemporary music, video presentations, and joint fiestas. Available volunteer opportunities, service learning projects and internships for qualified students allow students to more fully integrate while giving back to your host community.

The Center for Cross-Cultural Study's Mission Statement: The mission of the CC-CS is to promote our students' in-depth understanding of Spanish-speaking countries, through specifically designed academically rigorous university-level programs. We consider all of our students to be willing to cross cultural boundaries, to live as members of another culture, and to thus, learn about others as they learn about themselves.
In accordance with our mission to encourage our students to cross cultural boundaries, CC-CS promotes equal opportunities within our programs and does not discriminate on the basis of an individual's race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, age, physical ability, gender, sexual orientation, or other characteristics. We believe in educating students on cultural tolerance and sensitivity, acceptance of differences, inclusiveness, and how diversity is viewed in other cultures.
