Michel de Certeau, The Practice of Everyday Life Creative Chaos 10 is the Faculty of Arts' inaugural international arts summer school to be hosted by York St John University, which is to be held in York, UK and Terni, Italy in June 2010. Students work within their chosen practice-based arts discipline (performance, directing short film, writing for performance, documentary and screenwriting) interacting with other disciplines throughout the programme as required. Taught by internationally renowned practitioners and skilled academics, students will engage in an intensive programme of study, designed to enhance and deepen their existing knowledge and skills in their chosen field. The summer school will also provide the opportunity for participants to socialise together, attend programmed lectures from high-calibre guest speakers, attend local performances, exhibitions or screenings, as well as scheduled industry-related field trips. With two weeks based in the centre of the historic city of York, followed by a week in the city of Terni surrounded by the picturesque landscapes of Umbria in Italy, students will be able to use CC10 as an opportunity to explore some key aspects of these parts of the UK and Europe, during their free time.
