Singapore City
Term: Summer
Dates: June 20-July 25
Description:
Study the diversity of Southeast Asia in the modern and very clean city of Singapore. Students will all be enrolled in Southeast Asia in Context where they will learn an overview of the many facets of life in Singapore. Students will also be able to choose between two other courses, each with a distinctive focus. One module has an anthropological focus, while one has a history focus. The courses will be taught by faculty from the National University of Singapore. Read our courses page to find out more! At first glance, Singapore appears shockingly modern and anonymous, but this is an undeniably Asian city where Chinese, Malay and Indian traditions from feng shui to ancestor worship create part of the everyday landscape - colorful contrasts that bring the city to life. Students will have a chance to explore Singapore and the surrounding region on their own and through organized program activities.
