Yale Summer Session in Mombasa, Kenya

Dates: May 30-July 25 or July 4-Aug 8

Description: Students have the opportunity to enroll in one of two courses offered in Mombasa: an eight-week course of study in Intermediate Kiswahili taught by Ann Biersteker from the Yale Department of African Studies; or a five-week course titled History of East Aftrica, taught by Thomas McDow and Alison Norris. Participants in either course will be able to explore Mombasa and surrounding regions through organized program activities.

Scholarships are Available. The International Summer Award (ISA) is available to eligible Yale College students. Study abroad applicants who want to apply for an ISA should visit the web site before applying to Summer Session in order to determine eligibility for the award.
