This program is designed to give students an understanding of the European Business Environment. Lectures will center around European Union (EU) issues dealing with the ever changing framework of the EU, its external trade relations, the features and specifications of European firms, and business negotiations within the EU's complex cultural context. Students will take part in a seminar on wine economics by participating in field trips to meet with tradesmen, producers and merchants in the wine industry, studying Bordeaux's regional issue of managing vineyards and wine activities.
Highlights:
Both academic and leisure field trips are being planned as part of the program. Students will discover the city of Bordeaux with visits to businesses working in the wine industry's numerous areas, i.e., chateaux, vineyards, cellars, and merchant precincts. Receptions will be hosted by the local institution authorities (e.g. the Regional Council of Aquitaine, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry). The program will also include a weekend on the southwest Atlantic coast to discover Biarritz and San-Sebastian (Spain).
