The University supports study abroad opportunities for both incoming and outgoing students. Numerous UEA Schools of study offer degree programmes which include a semester or year abroad at one of our trusted partner institutions abroad. We also have well over 100 students coming from all over the world to study at UEA for a semester or year within their undergraduate degrees. The University is pleased to support opportunities for students to experience first-hand education in a different environment. The Study Abroad Programme at the University of East Anglia welcomes more than 300 visiting students each year. Home to a diverse student body of 14,000 students from 110 countries, the University is an internationally renowned campus-based university that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities. Some of the more notable programmes are: Creative Writing; Environmental Sciences; and International Development Studies. UEA is consistently ranked amongst the top three for student satisfaction according to the National Student Survey and in the top 25 in the UK by the Sunday Times. It also came top of the most recent research effectiveness league table published by Research Fortnight. Located in 320 acres of rolling parkland on the edge of the medieval city of Norwich the University is adjacent to the Norwich Research Park which is home to over 1,000 scientists working in several world ranked institutions. Sporting facilities on campus include the University Sportspark which houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool and regularly hosts international sporting events. UEA also has the world famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts and hosts an annual International Literary Festival which has included famous names such as Ian McEwan and Kazuo Ishiguro (both alumni of UEA's Creative Writing course).

The Study Abroad Programme is available for academic-year or single-semester study. Admission requires a cumulative grade point average (gpa) of 3.0. Other applicants may be considered but are not guaranteed admission. Whether you are coming to UEA within your degree in your home country or a UEA student who is interested in studying at one of our partner institutions abroad, we are pleased to support this life-changing experience.
