For admission to higher degree course, candidates must have obtained a first class or second class honours degree of any Russian University or equivalent from overseas University with good English Knowledge (IETLS, TOEFL). Higher degrees may be obtained either by research leading to the submission of a thesis or examination ( Mphil., PhD, D.Sc. Grand Ph.D.) .

International University of Fundamental Studies's Mission Statement: International University of Fundamental Studies IUFS is a non-government and non-profit making university in St. Petersburg, Russia and one of the major civic universities which are working together with Russian state universities to offer International degree qualifications. In 1998, the Ministry of Education, Russia - State Committee for Higher Education & Science, St. Petersburg, Russia, recognized IUFS. On 12th November 2007, University was granted Intergovernmental Accreditation by the International Parliament of Safety and Peace (Italy). In 2007, IUFS opened Intergovernmental Higher Academic Council (IHAC).
