Description: Queen Mary is pleased to announce the launch its Film-making Summer School in 2009.

Do you want to direct, to write, to be a creative person working in film and television?

You know you are creative and you know you need to develop a range of practical skills to get your ideas on the screen. This exciting new course offers the choice of one of two modules; Production Skills and Scriptwriting: Creativity and Technique. Our four week summer programme allows you to immerse yourself in the world of film and the buzz of London. Studying on our Mile end campus in East London provides a unique studying environment in the city, offering our students all the academic and living facilities they require on a single site. London is the world's most popular student destination and provides limitless social and educational opportunities. The programme is structured to give you ample time to explore the city and beyond.

London is also a city which has had a long tradition of movie making and has always been at the heart of the British film industry. The course will include a programme of classic and contemporary London films, guest speakers and field trips to some of London's many film resources and locations.

You will be offered accommodation on, or within a few minutes walk of, the campus. Our accommodation is of a high standard and you will, typically, be offered accommodation in a modern, self-catered, single study bedroom with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.
