Internships range between 18 to 25 hours per week. InteRDom works with over 100 institutions in the Dominican Republic to create internship opportunities suitable for international interns. Descriptions of new internships are regularly posted on the Program's website. The academic component can be fulfilled by direct enrollment in our partner local university, by taking one of our specialized courses on Spanish language and/or Caribbean Culture, or by participating in our Seminar Series. Upon receiving student applications, InteRDom staff evaluate in detail the interests and capabilities of the students, and match them with internships that correspond with their academic and career aspirations. As part of the internship assignment process, InteRDom arranges e-mail and telephone communication between perspective interns and employers to ensure optimal placement.
