Description:
The WMU program at the Universidad de Cantabria offers qualified students the opportunity to study Spanish language and culture in university courses especially designed for them. Students in the program will take intensive Spanish language classes over eight weeks with an emphasis on written and oral communication, as well as Spanish grammar. In addition, they will take a four-week class in Spanish culture. This course will be taught by a faculty member from the WMU Department of Spanish and will include a three-day trip and various day trips to region(s) in Spain that will be representative of numerous aspects of Spanish culture studied in class. Students will earn a total of nine credit hours for the eight weeks of study in Spain. Six of these credits will be in Spanish language and three will be in Spanish culture.

Good academic standing with minimum of 3.0 GPA in Spanish classes; sophomore standing; completion of SPAN 3160 prior to beginning of program (students who have not taken 3160 but have taken 3170 may apply as exceptions).
