Description: It is an intensive, eight-month course designed to prepare its participants for success in any English-language institution of higher education. Classes are conducted Monday-Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM. The AEP is content-based, emphasizing linguistic, academic and cultural competence. Instructional methodologies are highly eclectic and adhere to a notional-functional syllabus. Preparation for the TOEFL is included in the curriculum.

The main goal of the program is to offer college-age students from Nicaragua and Central America, from different backgrounds, solid linguistic academic training, in order to prepare them to enroll in AMU-LAC, or any English-language institution of higher education, and to become more effective and efficient in their jobs or schools, congruent with the scope of their expectations.

Highlights: In addition to formal instruction, students participate in exciting extracurricular activities such as science fairs, field trips, guest lectures, and visits to college classes. Frequent use of updated multimedia programs, instruction on the application of the Internet in higher education, as well as speech and note-taking practice, further enhance the learning experience. All activities are congruent with the Catholic values and principles expressed in the Mission Statement of Ave Maria University - Latin American Campus.
