Description:
The Mission of the program in Psychological and Social Sciences is to provide a solid foundation in the behavioral sciences. The curriculum prepares students for direct care and leadership positions in diverse and varied human service settings such as mental health centers, social and community service agencies, rehabilitation centers and criminal justice programs. Graduates will be equipped with the theoretical foundation and practical skills necessary for effective contributions in the helping professions. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge of research methodology, human service theory, and multidisciplinary treatment approaches to prepare for graduate work in a number of disciplines including: psychology, counseling, social work, criminal justice, marital and family therapy, human resources, and law.
Highlights:
The Psychology and Social Science Program will provide an education in the behavioral sciences which is given perspective by the Catholic faith. Students are afforded the opportunity to understand the major orientations of psychology in relation to the Catholic view of the human person. Students are encouraged to develop a theoretical orientation consistent with their values and beliefs.

Scholarships are Available. Institutional Scholarships are awarded based on need and merit. Need criteria include the family's income, the distance the student must travel to the university and the family's educational expenses for other children. Merit criteria include academic achievement, participation in community service, church activities, and school leadership organizations and artistic or athletic ability.
