Description:
The Psychology program core curriculum prepares students for professional and graduate study in psychology. Upon graduation, many students enter into direct care and leadership positions in diverse and varied human service settings such as mental health centers, hospitals, social and community service agencies and rehabilitation centers. Students are equipped with the tools for the theoretical foundation and practical skills necessary for effective contributions in the helping professions. Students acquire the necessary knowledge of research methodology, human service theories and multidisciplinary treatment approaches to prepare for graduate work in a number of disciplines including: psychology, counseling, social work, marital and family therapy, and human resources.
Highlights:
Nicaragua has many opportunities to work with the more disadvantaged population. Psychology students have a variety of occupations at nearby Development Centers, depending on the students needs and the administration needs. The psychology students conduct psycho-educational training with the children“s parents and teachers. Professor-student interaction is closer, that is small ratio of students per professor.
