Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world. IES London draws on the city's excellent educational institutions and broad range of resources in the arts, politics, and business to immerse students in the life of this dynamic international capital. Founded in 1972, the academic program features concentrations in British literature, international business, and international studies as well as area studies in fields such as Communications, History, Law, Sociology, and Women's Studies. Internships and creative workshops are significant offerings in the curriculum. Field Studies are integrated into all IES courses, introducing students to the history of the city's districts, its diverse population, and its many cultural assets. Students have the additional option of enrolling in a course at one of London's many superb universities. The IES London Center, located in the Bloomsbury District in the heart of London, is a two-minute walk from the British Museum. The program enrolls about 100 students each semester and summer.
Highlights:
* Internship assignments with the British Parliament, The Royal Academy of Arts, Touche International, and the British Broadcasting Company (BBC). * Field trips to historic sites in London and other locations such as Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the British countryside, including Stonehenge, Bath, York, and Brighton. * Unique IES Inter-Center programs including the International Drama Festival and the Model European Union simulation. * Housing in London apartments or with families

Cost Include Description:
Fees include tuition (for a maximum of 15 credits per semester), orientation, housing, and international health insurance. Students in family housing receive seven breakfasts and five evening meals per week and pay a supplementary fee of $230 per semester.
