AGBU Study Abroad Program in Armenia

Description: The AGBU Study Abroad Program in Armenia in collaboration with the American University of Armenia (AUA), an affiliate of the University of California, is a unique four-week program which allows students to take up to two 4-credit courses offered by the top universities in Armenia.

These English-instructed courses are designed to offer juniors and seniors in good academic standing an in-depth knowledge of topics in a variety of academic disciplines placed in a regional context that helps participants gain a new perspective on the Caucasus.

Academic credit is granted through AUA, which is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), one of seven regional bodies recognized by the United States Department of Education.

While in Armenia, students live in an AGBU residence along with participants of the AGBU Yerevan Summer Intern Program (YSIP). Together, they partake in a cultural enrichment program and a variety of social and recreational activities.

* Trips to Holy Etchmiadzin, Gyumri, Lake Sevan, Dilijan, Garni, Geghard and Karabakh
* Meetings with Government Officials
* Tours of AGBU Projects in Armenia
* Social Programs, including Welcome and Farewell Dinners

Faculty are top experts in their fields from both the Diaspora and Armenia and hold degrees from the United States, United Kingdom, and Armenia.

Collaborating universities include Yerevan State University, the State Engineering University of Armenia, and the Yerevan State Medical University.

Scholarships are available for students of Armenian descent through the AGBU.
