Study Abroad Program in Taormina, Sicily, Italy
Italy
Term: Fall, Spring, Summer
Description:
Taormina is perfectly situated to offer students easy access to the beautiful and historically important treasures of Sicily. With a strong vocation for tourism, Taormina offers many hotels, restaurants, bars, discos, entertainment and sports (windsurfing, scuba diving, mountain-biking, mountain-climbing, rafting, tennis and golf.) The surroundings of Taormina are a beautiful paradise; there are several trails leading down to the sea and up to the picturesque village of Castelmola. You can climb to the top of the highest mountain in the area, Monte Venere, where one of the three Greek Venus temples is rumored to have been. The entire region is also known for its traditional food and Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe. Known for its diverse regions, rich culture, and fabulous food, boot-shaped Italy possesses perhaps the most instantly identifiable physical shape of any country in the world. You can visit Roman ruins, gawk at Renaissance art, stay in tiny hill towns, ski the Alps, explore the canals of Venice, and see more churches than you can imagine. Naturally, you can indulge in the elementary pleasures of good food, improving your wardrobe, and seeking out "la dolce vita." From its beaches to its Alpine mountains, Italy vibrates with a special soul that is reflected in its people, music, and art.

AmeriSpan Study Abroad's Mission Statement: Our mantra is "Every Language, Every Culture, Everywhere." AmeriSpan Study Abroad has over 15 years experience and over 30,000 past participants. Our staff has three passions: language, culture, and travel. Individually and as a group, we have accumulated experiences and knowledge related to these passions. AmeriSpan's staff has traveled to more than 65 countries, every continent except Antarctica, speak 10 languages, and we are happy to share this enormous amount of relevant knowledge with you. Every staff member has studied and/or lived abroad for extended periods of time. We are neither a language school nor a travel agent, we're a hybrid of the two: a language travel organization. AmeriSpan has evaluated hundreds of schools, host families and destinations to determine which programs to offer, and our independence allows us to give you unbiased evaluations of these programs.
Our pledge to our participants is to make going abroad 'worry-free'. There is no risk in choosing an AmeriSpan program because you'll get the best program, best price and can cancel for any reason and get a full refund on every dollar we have received for your program.
