Flamenco and Spanish (or English) Intensive Study
Spain
Term: Summer, Winter
Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks
Dates: December 21 - January 10, 2009
Description:
IFDA's Cadiz program introduces participants to a land where culture expresses itself through dance and music. Coupled with opportunities to study English or Spanish language this program will be a comprehensive dive into a modern world of beautiful ancient city. Birthed form the very heart of Andalusia, Flamenco intertwines Arabic, Andalusian, Islamic, Sephardic, and Gypsy cultures, and is one of the most diverse dances of all time. Cadiz is one of the world's unblemished diamonds. Unlike many Spanish coastal towns, tourism is not the prime source of income, making Cadiz a prime location for planned leisure and study. The peninsula's beautiful beaches of the Andalusian Atlantic coast, exquisite regional cuisine, and blend of cultures, make this early Phoenician city - the oldest in Europe - one that will captivate anyone.
