Tel Aviv, Israels cosmopolitan coastal city, is the location of NYUs newest study abroad center. A thriving metropolis by the Mediterranean Sea, Tel Aviv is Israels financial and technological center and a perfect locale for students to study the nations short yet complicated history. NYU in Tel Aviv offers students the exceptional opportunity to learn about the history and culture of the Middle East while taking part in the traditions of Israels second largest city. Students select from a list of courses that adhere to NYUs high standards. The curriculum focuses on Middle Eastern studies in subjects such as journalism, media, politics, prelaw, and the social sciences. Language courses in Hebrew and Arabic are also available. Faculty members are leaders in their fields and often include established scholars, artists, journalists, and public intellectuals whose internationally valued work transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries.
