Summer Study in Rome

  Italy
  • Rome:
  • Roma (Rome)

Term: Summer
Dates: Summer session

Description: Explore art and culture in the Eternal City. Rome is the capital of Italy and has a thrilling history that spans 3,000 years. Renowned worldwide for art, fashion, and cuisine, it a vibrant city with wonders waiting around every corner. The program's Rome study center is located in the beautiful Palazzo Bennicelli on the Piazza dell'Orologio. The streets surrounding the piazza are paved with cobblestone and the central location makes it an ideal base for both classes and as a jumping off point for on-site study visits.

Highlights:
*Coursework
This program is designed for students with little or no previous study of the Italian language.

*Excursions
There are two one-day excursions to Pompeii and Orvieto. There is also a cultural fund for additional excursions around Rome. All students receive a bus pass for the duration of the program. Orvieto is a picturesque town perched on top of a cliff in Umbria, the 'green heart' of Italy.

*Housing & Meals
Students stay in apartments or with a host family. The host family option includes breakfast and dinner. There is limited space available with homestays. All students receive a bus pass to travel from their housing to the Rome Center.

*Faculty & Staff
On-site support is provided by ACCENT, housed in their new Rome Center in beautiful Palazzo Bennicelli (also known as Banco di Santo Spirito) on the Piazza dell'Orologio. ACCENT provides student housing, program classrooms, study areas, and arranges on-site orientation, program excursions, and social and cultural events. Italian faculty from universities in and around Rome provide all course instruction.
