Art Meets Culture in Buenos Aires

Description: Learn about the history of Buenos Aires and how its patterns of immigration have shaped the city and its arts. Examine how political and economic forces have created a vibrant and youthful entrepreneurial arts community.

Highlights:
*Coursework
Through lectures, readings, and various excursions students learn about the role history, economics, and politics have played in the formation of Argentine art and contemporary culture.

*Excursions
A number of excursions are planned which may include visits to museums, markets, artist collectives, craft fairs, galleries, architectural walking tours, and tango studios.

*Housing & Meals
Students live in shared housing with other program participants. A welcome dinner and farewell dinner are included in the program fee. Additional meals can be taken in the housing or at the variety of cafés and restaurants in Buenos Aires.

*On-Site Support
On-site support is provided by a local learning abroad center. Students may have access to a computer lab, a classroom space, and a library. On-site staff provide information to students regarding cultural activities as well as ensuring 24-hour emergency support.
