Description:
Learn about the history of Buenos Aires and how its patterns of immigration have shaped the city and its arts. Examine how political and economic forces have created a vibrant and youthful entrepreneurial arts community.

Through lectures, readings, and various excursions students learn about the role history, economics, and politics have played in the formation of Argentine art and contemporary culture. *Excursions
A number of excursions are planned which may include visits to museums, markets, artist collectives, craft fairs, galleries, architectural walking tours, and tango studios. *Housing & Meals
Students live in shared housing with other program participants. A welcome dinner and farewell dinner are included in the program fee. Additional meals can be taken in the housing or at the variety of cafés and restaurants in Buenos Aires. *On-Site Support
On-site support is provided by a local learning abroad center. Students may have access to a computer lab, a classroom space, and a library. On-site staff provide information to students regarding cultural activities as well as ensuring 24-hour emergency support.
