Founded in 1889, Mahidol University is one of the oldest educational institutions in Thailand, and today, includes 16 faculties, 8 institutions, 3 hospitals, and 6 colleges. The university supports a student body of over 19,000 and with over 2,600 faculty, the teacher-student ratio is the best of any university in Thailand. Mahidol University International College (MUIC) was established to deliver English-taught science and liberal arts programs that embody the finest standards possible to a diverse population of full-time students from Thailand and around the world. Programs in the social sciences, business, and tourism management stand alongside offerings in health and natural sciences. In addition to these, the College offers general education courses in foreign languages and humanities. The MUIC is located at Mahidol University's Salaya campus on 500 acres of managed land, including parklands and sports facilities. Salaya is a thriving campus town and residential suburb of Bangkok. The center of Bangkok is only 20k from campus. Although most MUIC students are Thai, there are also students from 41 different countries attending Mahidol University. This mix of students provides an opportunity to make friends and contacts in Asia and throughout the world that will last a lifetime. Highlights:
Special Program Features Excursions Each semester students are invited to participate in a variety of optional affordable excursions organized by the Resident Coordinator. Each activity is designed to be fun and educational so that students gain a deeper appreciation for the arts, culture, and history. Examples include: Thai cooking class Traditional Thai drama and dance Visit historic temples Excursion to one of Thailand's southern island All classes offered through Mahidol University's International Campus are taught in English. Students can select classes from a wide variety of disciplines, including biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, finance, food science, international business, marketing, physics, social science, Southeast Asian studies, tourism, and more. Mahidol University is located in Salaya, a residential suburb of Bangkok.
