Description: Volunteer, Study Abroad, Intern in Buenos Aires - Or do ALL three! With Gateway Argentina you customize your own program! Tell us what you want, and we will create the program for you. Choose from one of our four different housing options (Home-Stay, Shared Apartment, Private Apartment or Student Residences). Programs can start any Monday year round.

Gateway Argentina offers two different language programs depending on your needs. We also offer a number of specialized language courses.

* Intensive Spanish Course:
Students in the Intensive Spanish Course will study through the University of Buenos Aires.

Classes consist of:
- 6 distinctive levels
- 15 hours per week / 60 hours per level
- 4 weeks per level
- Small class sizes (under 10)
- Course material included
- Entry test and final exam
- Certification issued by the University Language Center - University of Buenos Aires

These classes are perfect for graduate or undergraduate students coming to Buenos Aires for a longer period of time and want intensive Spanish classes. These classes are ideal for students whose focus for their time in Buenos Aires is Spanish language learning.

Classes begin on the first Monday of every month.

* Flexible Spanish Course:
Students in the Flexible Spanish course have the ability to mold or customize their course schedule depending on their desired focus while in Buenos Aires.

Classes consist of:
- 9 distinct levels
- 15 hours per week
- 2 weeks per level
- Small group classes (under 7)
- Course material included
- Entry test and final exam
- Certification of completion issued by the language school

Flexible Spanish is perfect for students looking for a quick, short immersion class before continuing on with different activities in Buenos Aires or Argentina. We can arrange these classes around your volunteer or travel schedule.

Conversation Club:

Our conversation club is an opportunity to engage in conversations based on important topics in Buenos Aires and Argentina while practicing Spanish and learning new vocabulary. The club meets at local pubs or cafes and discusses topics in an informal and open environment. Some conversation clubs are coordinated to be follow-up discussions of 'Lecturas Culturales' events. Each club is lead by a specialist on the topic, some topics include:
- The Economic Crash of 2002
- Evita: More than a Movie
- History of the Madres de la Plaza de Mayo
- How to "Parrilla" Why Steak Will Never be the Same
- History of Mate
- Understanding the Statistics - A Look into the Porteno Psyche

Group Activities:

Each week we will organize a socio-cultural event around the city. Here are some of the events we have planned. Group activities are optional, but we highly suggest you take advantage of these events.
- Tours of Buenos Aires' famous barrios
- Tour of the catacombs below San Telmo - Buenos Aires' oldest neighborhood
- Polo matches (seasonal)
- Visit to the Casa Rosada museum
- Tango shows
- Museum tours
- Parrillas (Argentine style BBQ)
- Argentine cooking demonstrations and group dinners
- Boating on the delta at Tigre
