Description:
Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world. IES Madrid is located on the campus of the distinguished Universidad Complutense de Madrid, whose courses, activities, and facilities are open to IES students. The program's goal is to immerse students in contemporary Spanish life through challenging coursework internships, field trips, intercambios with university students, and recreational and cultural events including football games and a Cinema Forum.
Highlights:
All IES courses taught in Spanish, including Art History, Business, Cinema, Economics, History, Literature, Political Science, and Spanish Language. Unique features of the IES program include: enrollment opportunities at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, housing in private homes with seaoras and/or families, IES Creative Workshops in Theater and Writing, specialized curriculum for bilingual students with native or near-native fluency, internships in businesses, government agencies, private foundations, art galleries, and the media, optional field trips to Barcelona, Bilbao, and San Sebastian (Pais Vasco), Granada, and Andalucia.
