Description:
The Summer-in-Berlin Program is a four to eight week, intensive language and cultural program to enhance a student's cultural knowledge and proficiency. Students can either participate in the summer program individually or join one of the credit-bearing group programs offered by the Universities of Richmond, Rochester, West Chester or UCLA. Students may combine language instruction with an internship in Berlin.
Highlights:
Excursions and field trips in the Berlin area to sites of historical and cultural importance are an integral component of the program. Excursions to sites outside of the Berlin area (e.g. to Dresden, Weimar, Prague) are optional.

Cost Include Description:
Tuition, learning material, placement test and final exam at language school, pick-up service, a 'Welcome package' (including Public Transportation Pass, City Map, telephone card, The Studienforum Berlin's Student Handbook 'Disscover Berlin', several brochures etc.), sightseeing tours in Berlin and Potsdam, organization of leisure and cultural activities (social gatherings, tickets for theatre, operas, concerts). Cellphone is optional.

Studienforum Berlin e.V.'s Mission Statement: Studienforum Berlin e.V. (SFB) is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organization. It promotes better understanding of the people, society, culture, and institutions of Germany and Europe among national, European and overseas students. Studienforum Berlin offers highly competitive, academically oriented educational semester, language, and internship programs for English speaking students and equips its students with well-developed analytical, conceptual, quantitative, and human skills. SFB organizes faculty development seminars on Germany and European integration. In addition, SFB conducts research on political and economic developments in Germany and Europe. Studienforum Berlin's programs are designed to develop an increased understanding and respect for a different cultural system and to nurture the ability to interact competently and responsibly in an interdependent world. They will help you understand the dynamic role of Germany and Europe and to expose you to its historical, political, economic, social and cultural heritage.
