Description: If you're a student seeking a deeper understanding of Irish life and culture this summer, Irish Studies at the University of Limerick offers an unparalleled academic and experiential opportunity to broaden your horizons. "Get your Irish up" about the sublime aesthetic achievements and dramatic historic periods of this charmed land.   

You will earn three semester hours of credit for each three-week summer session, or six semester hours of credit for completion of both sessions.

GPA Requirements: 2.9 on a 4.0 scale.

You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.

Highlights: Our highly-focused program is divided into two three-week sessions, or "streams." Students may choose to enroll in either or both of these streams. Stream One is taught from late May to late June; Stream Two is taught from late June to early July. Both streams are based at the university's campus, in the spectacularly evocative west of Ireland. Taught by Irish experts who are also members of the university faculty, the program allows you to choose from among seven distinct courses. Four of the courses run during the first stream; the remaining three run during the section stream.

Scholarships are Available. Scholarships and Financial Aid are a major part of our commitment to access for all students. Arcadia offers more than 1.5 million dollars in scholarships annually in amounts from 500 USD to 2,000 USD. A financial aid coordinator is also on-staff to provide help to students who require individual consortium agreements or need Arcadia to process federal financial aid for them.
