Description:
All courses offered through the Accademia Italiana (with the exception of Italian language) are taught in English by Italian and international faculty. Courses are available in the following areas: Italian Language, Literature, Classics, History, Cinema, Political Science, Business and Fine Arts. In response to numerous requests for a program abroad which would serve international business students, Arcadia has developed a business concentration in partnership with the Accademia Italiana in Rome. Regardless of the specific concentration you choose, all students are required to study Italian language (4 semester hours of credit) and complete your curriculum with four additional three-credit courses taught in English. You will find your proficiency in Italian language will improve daily as you interact with the people, sites, and treasures that you are learning about in the classroom. Credits Courses may be selected among various departments. You will earn the following hours of credit: * Fall and spring semester: 16 credits. * Academic year: 32 credits. Admission Requirements GPA Requirements: 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.
Highlights:
Upon arrival in Rome, you will be met by our Resident Director, Tina Rocchio, who will introduce you to your new home and provide you with a comprehensive orientation program. During the first week you will move into the housing which Arcadia has pre-arranged for you. All students enrolling in the Arcadia Rome program will be expected to attend orientation. At this time, academic contracts are signed, expectations are established, basic cultural differences are explained, and practical matters such as internet access, cell phone service, banking, health and safety, rules of conduct, housing issues and emergency contact information are discussed. During the orientation period, you will also have the opportunity to explore your new home and adjust to your housing.
