  Ireland
  • Dublin:
  • Dublin

Term: Academic Year, Spring
Dates: Michaelmas Term: early October - early December; Hilary Term: early January - early March; Trinity Term: late March - mid-June

Description: Trinity College has much to offer you as a study abroad student - a beautiful campus in the heart of Dublin, an impressive academic record spanning over 400 years, a highly regarded international Faculty and research community and a student population comprising students from over 90 countries. It is a College where history continues to be made, theories tested and life lived.

Trinity College, the single constituent college of the University of Dublin, was founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592. It is the oldest university in Ireland (and one of the older universities of Western Europe) and it maintains a campus extending over 47 acres in a unique site in the heart of Dublin. Study at Trinity College and you will feel the history around you - no only in the buildings but also in the manor of teaching and studying - the Tutorial system of Trinity keeps the traditional learning style intact.

Highlights: The academic year at Trinity College is divided into three terms: Michaelmas term (9 weeks, October-December); Hilary term (9 weeks, January-March) and the Trinity term (6 weeks, April-May). Examinations follow one week after the end of Trinity term and continue for approximately four weeks. Due to the nature of the academic calendar, all study abroad students are required to study for the full academic year or the Hilary and Trinity terms (spring semester).

As a study abroad student at Trinity College you will take approximately 60 Trinity units (30 US credits). You will be able to take courses from a broad range of subjects including Arts & Humanities, Social & Human Sciences, Engineering, and Science.
